The restoration process starts with your call to Just Dashes for information and pricing. Their knowledgeable staff can write up your work order even before you ship your parts, putting you into the production schedule and saving valuable time.

Once your part arrives at Just Dashes, like this 1971 GTO dash pad, it under goes a complete physical examination and its condition is recorded. How the item will be restored is determined at this time.

Your work order and other pertinent information is now entered into our database, skilled craftsmen assigned to the project and the concours restoration started.

After the original vinyl and foam is stripped from the part, new high-density closed cell foam is installed and hand shaped to provide a perfect base for the new vinyl. A coat of professional grade adhesive is then sprayed over the foam.

The part is then installed in the Thermo Vacuum Forming machine and heated until it is soft and pliable. Vacuum is now applied and the vinyl is sucked down over the item. Here the pad is just contacting the heated vinyl.

The vinyl is now sucked over every contour of the pad and is immediately cooled with a spray of water. The item is then removed from the machine and the finish trimming and gluing is done by hand.

After the pad is hand finished it goes to the paint area to be dyed in the exact factory color for your vehicle. This is the way the original pads were colored, and the dye is extremely durable.
